YORKVILLE — A stabbing at Capo's Pizzeria on Champlin Avenue in Yorkville is under investigation after one man was sent to the hospital with multiple stab wounds Wednesday night, according to the Yorkville Police Department.

No arrests have been made so far.

Police said officers at a sobriety checkpoint on Whitesboro Street were notified of the stabbing by a passing car at about 10:35 p.m. Wednesday. Officers quickly arrived on the scene and locked down the area, while collecting evidence of a recent fight.

Within minutes, police said they were notified that a 23-year-old male victim had been admitted to a local emergency room with multiple stab wounds to his back. The man was last listed in stable condition, police noted.

Yorkville Police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying and locating the attacker. Anyone who was a witness to the attack at Capo's Pizzeria or who has security camera footage from the area is asked to contact Yorkville Police at 315-736-8331.
