The Mohawk Valley Institute for Learning in Retirement (MVILR) will host an open house at its new location, Mohawk Valley Community College’s Rome Campus, 1101 Floyd Ave., from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Sept. 9.
The event offers the opportunity for the community to learn more about MVILR, a non-profit organization that provides local retirees with rich learning opportunities, including speakers, special programs, and a variety of non-credit courses taught by volunteer facilitators, members, and guest professionals. Attendees also will have the chance to meet current MVILR members, tour classrooms and state-of-the-art special event spaces, learn about MVILR membership, and talk to facilitators about the classes they are teaching this fall.
The MVILR Open House is free and open to the public. For more information, visit www.mvcc.edu/mvilr, or contact the MVILR Office by emailing email@example.com or calling 315-334-7761.
Mohawk Valley Institute for Learning in Retirement is a non-profit organization that provides local seniors with opportunities for continuing intellectual and cultural enrichment in an atmosphere that fosters learning within a supportive social network. In May 2021, MVILR partnered with MVCC’s Center for Corporate and Community Education to continue providing local retirees with rich learning opportunities without homework, exams, or grades. Now located at the College’s Rome Campus, MVILR offers opportunities for academic pursuits, health and wellness activities, social and intellectual interaction.
