Mohawk Valley Institute for Learning in Retirement is hosting an open house from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Sept. 9, at its new location, Mohawk Valley Community College’s Rome Campus, 1101 Floyd Ave. at the Rome Campus.
The event offers community members the chance to learn more about MVILR, a non-profit organization that provides local retirees with opportunities to learn and socialize with programming that includes speakers, special events, and a variety of non-credit courses.
Attendees also will have the chance to tour MVILR’s classrooms and state-of-the-art event spaces, meet current MVILR members, and talk to facilitators about the classes they are teaching this fall.
The agenda is as follows:
• 10 a.m.: Welcome message from MVILR / Registration begins
• 11 a.m.: Remarks from Mayor Jacqueline M. Izzo
• Noon: Conclusion of event
