MYRTLE BEACH — The Mohawk Valley Community College baseball team opened up the 2023 schedule by splitting Saturday's doubleheader at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

The Hawks dropped game one Cathedral University's junior varsity squad of Washington DC by a score of 9-2. Dave Breakell singled and doubled to lead the offense. 

MVCC bounced back in the second game defeating Westmoreland CC of Pennsylvania by a score of 11-5. Cory Field hurled six innings on the mound for the win. Colton Davis and Joe DiMasse led the offensive attack with two hits each. Davis doubled twice with three RBIs, while DiMasse drove in three runs. Patrick Linck added two hits and a stolen base for the Hawks.

The Hawks returned to action today against Bergen CC of New Jersey.
