Missing man, 80, found in woods, treated for exposure


TOWN OF ANNSVILLE — An 80-year-old Alzheimer’s patient went missing from a residence in Annsville very early Friday morning, and law enforcement officials said he was located in the woods.

Sheriff’s deputies said the victim, from Orange County, was staying at a residence on Carlisle Road when he left the residence sometime around 3 a.m. Deputies said they were notified at 7 a.m. of the missing man and a search of the area was conducted by officers and local residents.

The man was found by local residents at about 9:30 a.m. in a heavily wooded area, authorities stated.

The man was treated at the scene for exposure and was taken to Rome Health for an evaluation.
