Minnesota teen charged in giving e-cig to 4-year-old

TOWN OF WATSON — A Minnesota teenager was charged in Lewis County with giving a 4-year-old an electronic cigarette and posting a video on the internet, according to law enforcement officials.

Sheriff’s deputies said they were tipped off about a video on social media that showed a 4-year-old child using an electronic cigarette.

Deputies said they tracked down the people involved and determined that 18-year-old Helen M. Nelson, of Minnesota, gave the child the cigarette at a residence on Crestview Drive in Watson on Sunday.

Deputies said Nelson then posted the video of the child on social media. Nelson has been charged with one count of endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, authorities said. She is scheduled to appear in Town Court.
