ROME — A quantity of methamphetamine was discovered in the glove box of a vehicle during a traffic stop in Rome on Sunday, according to the Rome Police Department.
Police said the vehicle was pulled over on Erie Boulevard East around 7:51 p.m. Jan. 8 for an expired inspection sticker. Once stopped, police said they found a quantity of meth hidden in the glove box of the vehicle.
The passenger, 38-year-old James J. Suders, of Clinton, claimed ownership of the drugs, police said. Suders is charged with one count of seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance. He is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court.
The driver of the vehicle was also issued a vehicle and traffic ticket, police stated.
