Max H. Baker, Jr.


Max H. Baker, Jr., 73, of Swancott Mills, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2021, at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare. He was born in Rome on September 12, 1947, a son of the late Max H. and Margorie (Gifford) Baker, Sr. He was a graduate of Rome Free Academy.

Max served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1967-69. After being honorably discharged from the service, he went to work at Revere Copper and Brass Co. where he enjoyed a 48-year career.

He was avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. He was a member of the Elks Club for many years.

Max is survived by a daughter, Audra Baker; and two grandchildren, Brandon and Amber Burns. He also had a great neighbor, Lewis Snetsinger, who he counted on in many times of need. He was predeceased by his longtime girlfriend Cynthia Savage.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome.
