Man killed in Lewis County UTV crash
MONTAGUE — A Jefferson County man was killed when his UTV, an all-terrain vehicle, struck a tree on Worth Road Sunday.
State Police at Lowville said James M. Jobson-Wagar, 21, of Dexter, was eastbound on Worth Road when he lost control of his UTV at 4:24 p.m., and struck a tree.
James was transported to Lewis County Hospital where he was then airlifted by LifeNet to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, where he was listed in critical condition.
On Monday, troopers said Jobson-Wagar succumbed to his injuries. During the investigation, it was determined that James was not wearing a helmet or a seatbelt prior to the crash.
State Police were assisted at the scene by the Lewis County Search and Rescue.
An investigation into the cause of the crash continues.
