A 32-year-old man is accused of stealing scrap metal after breaking into Mastrangelo Truck Refinishers on Martin Street early Saturday morning, according to law enforcement officials.
Police said Timothy A. Edick, of Crossgates Road, opened the gate at the shop and drove in, then broke into two trailers on the property and started rummaging inside. Police said the owner saw Edick and his truck on security cameras and called 9-1-1 at 7:19 a.m.
Responding officers said they found Edick in one of the trailers, having already grabbed roughly $1,800 worth of material from the two trailers.
Edick is charged with two counts of felony third-degree burglary and one count of petty larceny, police stated.
He is scheduled to appear in City Court.
