Lewis County man accused of sending threatening text message
MARTINSBURG — A Lewis County man has been charged with threatening another person via text message on Wednesday, according to law enforcement officials with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s deputies said Joshua Young, 31, of Lowville, sent a threatening text message to a person in Martinsburg at about 6:46 p.m. Wednesday.
Young was taken into custody on Thursday.
Young is charged with one count of second-degree aggravated harassment, a misdemeanor, deputies said. He was arraigned in court and was released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to reappear in court.
An order of protection was filed against him on behalf of the victim, authorities noted.
