Sydney Lusher tallied a double-double as the Oneida girls basketball team picked up its third win of the season after the Indians defeated visiting Chittenango 60-31 on Sunday.
Sydney Lusher recorded a double-double, scoring a game-high 27 points and pulling down 11 rebounds for the Indians. She also had seven assists, three blocks and four steals.
Kaylin Curro added 17 points and five boards for Oneida and both Jordan French and Amelia Bowman each scored eight points apiece.
Maryanna Garcia scored a team-high 12 points for Chittenango.
RFA girls top ND
In more girls basketball action, Rome Free Academy defeated Tri-Valley League foe and host Notre Dame, 60-44, on Friday night.
RFA sophomore Amya McLeod scored a game-high 28 points, grabbed six rebounds an handed out four assists.
Senior Jace Hunzinger added 15 points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals for RFA.
Ajla Sedjic and Lily Sehring both scored 10 points for Notre Dame.
RFA is 2-0 on the season.
Bulldogs suffer setback
On Monday, Westmoreland lost at Center State Conference foe Waterville 52-32.
Madalynne Enos paced the Bulldogs with 15 points and Samantha Wilson added seven points.
Camden outlasts RFA
In girls volleyball action, host Camden defeated RFA, 3-2, on Friday night.
Camden won the first set 25-16, the third set 25-19 and the fifth set 25-17. RFA won the second set 25-20 and fourth set 25-22.
Syerra Vedder had four aces and three digs for the Black Knights. Holly Turner had 10 digs for RFA and Alexis Kennedy finished with two aces and nine digs. Jamiah Moyer had three aces and 11 digs for RFA in the loss.
VVS sweeps Oneida
In a boys volleyball game, Vernon-Verona-Sherrill defeated Oneida, 3-0.
The Red Devils won the sets 25-12, 25-8 and 25-11.
Lucas Croft had two aces and 16 digs for VVS. Tyler Kinne added two aces and 10 digs and Cole Maguire had seven assists and four digs. Evan Kirkpatrick had three kills, seven assists and four digs for the Red Devils.
For Oneida, Tesfaye Hatch had three kills and six assists and Ryan Paul had 14 digs.
VVS is 2-0 while Oneida drops to 0-2.
Black Knights roll to win
Keshawn Clark rolled a team-high game of 232 for the RFA boys bowling team as the Black Knights defeated Camden, 7-4.
RFA bowled at King Pin Lanes and Camden bowled at Lucky Shots because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Clark finished with a 607 series for RFA and AJ Poole rolled a team-high 617 series for the Black Knights. Alix Powell added a 604 series for RFA.
Camden’s Joe Barrett shot a match-high game and series of 246 and 633. Koen Turner added a 602 series for the Blue Devils.
RFA moves to 7-1 on the year while Camden drops to 4-4.
