Lowell United Methodist Church, 5548 Lowell Road, will celebrate Laity Sunday at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 17.
Laity Sunday is the Sunday that the United Methodist Church celebrates the ministry, and witness of lay persons everywhere with a special service.
The Rev. George and Sue Smith, pastor, will share their musical gifts with an original song written by Sue, and other musical presentations and a message by Pastor Smith.
Members of the congregation will also participate in the service.
Anyone not a minister in the church is considered to be a lay person and each person offers special gifts to God.
