ROME — Aaron Cianfrocco recently completed 20 years of service in the U.S. Army. Cianfrocco, who retired from the military with the rank of sergeant first class, is the son of Robert R. Cianfrocco, of Rome, and Janet L. Cianfrocco, of Spring Hill, Fla.

Cianfrocco lives in Rome with his wife, Jen, and children Natalia, 10, and Benito, 7. He is currently the chief operations manager of Hearth to Home Construction of Central New York. Hearth to Home is one of a few veteran-owned and operated companies in the area. 

Cianfrocco is a native of Rome and a graduate of Rome Free Academy in the Class of 2002. He enlisted in the Army in April 2003, completing Basic Combat Training at Fort Benning, Ga., and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Gordon, Ga. He graduated fully qualified as a cable wire maintainer installer).

Cianfrocco’s previous assignments include the 307th Signal Battalion Camp Carrol South Korea, 35th Signal Battalion, Fort Bragg N.C., Charlie Battery 3-321 Field Artillery Battalion Fort Bragg N.C., Division Signal Company, HHBN 10th Mountain Division Fort Drum, Division G6 HHBN 10th Mountain Division Fort Drum NY, 36 Signal Battalion Camp Walker South Korea, Signal Intelligence and Sustainment Company HHBN 10th Mountain Division Fort Drum NY, HHD 1SG 1-222D Aviation Regiment, Fort Eustis, VA. He will retire as the Fox Company (Spartans) 1SG at 1-222D Aviation Regiment, Fort Eustis, VA

He has deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (2005-2006), Operation Enduring Freedom (2007 and 2008-2009), Operation Enduring Freedom (2010), Operation Enduring Freedom (2010-2011), Operation Enduring Freedom (2014-15), Operation Inherent Resolve (2018), and Operation Inherent Resolve (2020). He also served two tours in South Korea.

Cianfrocco’s military education includes Property Book Unit Level Supply, Company PUBUS, Basic Leaders Course, Master Resilience, Standard Communication Security Course, Local COMSEC Managers Course, Fiber Optic Termination/Install Course, Advance Leaders Course, Senior Leaders Course, Unit Movement Officer Course, Air Load Planners Course, Company Commander/1SG Pre-Command Course, and the Cadre Training Course. Cianfrocco has maintained a TS-SCI clearance for more than 10 years.

Cianfrocco has received numerous awards and decorations, including the Distinguished Military Service Medal, three Meritorious Service Medals, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, five Army Commendation Medals, four Army Achievement Medals, Navy and Marine Achievement Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Valorous Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Non-commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, Combat Action Badge, Driver and Mechanic Badge, and the Expert Marksmanship Badge.

A retirement party is being hosted by the Italian American Club of Rome at the Toccolana Club in honor of Cianfrocco’s honorable service.
