Local businesswoman elected to Rome Hospital Foundation board


The Rome Hospital Foundation has announced the election of Ann Pohl to serve a 3-year term on the agency’s Board of Directors and has also announced the installation of its executive officers for 2021.

Pohl is a regional executive for NBT Bank, serving as its assistant vice president and market manager for the Mohawk Valley. She is responsible for the lending and operations of several branches in Oneida and Madison Counties.

Pohl has dedicated her 40-year career to not only serving the banking needs of our community but also supporting many civic and non-profit organizations. She has served at the Rome Area Chamber of Commerce, American Heart Association of the Mohawk Valley, and United Way of Central New York.

“Ann’s belief in strong, local healthcare and service to community make her an excellent match to join the Rome Hospital Foundation,” said Kristin Grunder, Foundation Board president and president of Ace Hardware of Rome.

“Along with the rest of the Board of Directors, we look forward to partnering with Ann to increase the Foundation’s visibility and engage with the local community to support Rome Memorial Hospital,” Grunder said.

In addition to the election of Pohl, the Foundation Board of Directors elected a slate of candidates to serve on its executive committee. Along with its executive director, Chester DiBari III, this group is tasked with setting strategic goals and providing the the overall direction of the organization.

Executive officers for 2021 include:

Kristin Grunder, president;

Shawn Weiman, first vice president;

Mark Vacca, second vice president;

Nick Mayhew, treasurer; and

Sonya Ezell, secretary.

Other members of the Board of Directors include Lauren Guistra, Brianna Kubik, Brian Miller, Mark Murphy, Pohl, Dewey Rowlands, Gretchen Sprock, Lou Viviani and Lynne Williams.
