VERONA — Fritz’s Polka Band, from Verona, will return to Musikfest in Bethlehem, Pa., on Sunday, Aug. 8. The band will perform on the Festplatz Stage from noon to 2:30 p.m. Musikfest is the largest free festival in the U.S. with more than a 1,000,000 people attending the 2019 event, the band announcement said.
“The guys in Fritz’s Polka Band are eager to return to Musikfest for the seventh year in a row,” said band leader Fritz Scherz. “Last year was virtual, so it was quite a change from prior years when the crowds had been really big! That said, it was still fun! A neat thing about this festival is that there are so many different musical genres and the audience welcomes it. It’s so thrilling to get booked to play at the largest free festival in the United States!”
Fritz’s Polka Band marked its 40th anniversary in October 2018. The group made history in 1999 by becoming the first polka band to play at a Woodstock Festival.
