OLD FORGE  — “Local ART,” a group exhibit of artists who love our community, will be on display Aug. 5 through Aug. 27 at the Old Forge Library, 220 Crosby Blvd.

As part of the town-wide First Friday Art Walk, the exhibit’s opening reception will be held 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 5. The reception is free and open to all. Light refreshments will be served.

“Local ART” is an exhibit featuring 2-D artwork in many mediums including photography, oil paintings, acrylics, watercolor, pastel, mixed media and collage. Some of the artists have graciously earmarked a portion of sales as a donation to the library.

Library director and local art enthusiast, Linda Weal said, “The goal of this summer exhibit is to gather the arts community and celebrate our amazing creativity. Our year-round arts scene is greatly enhanced each summer by a large influx of talent who call the Adirondacks home each summer.”
