Local Army National Guard soldiers earn promotions

LATHAM — Maj. Gen. Ray Shields, adjutant general for New York, has announced the promotion of several local members of the New York Army National Guard in recognition of their capability for additional responsibility and leadership.

The promotions include: 

-Caleb Fitch, of Boonville, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 108th Infantry Regiment, promoted to specialist;

-Patrick Halpin, of Utica, Joint Force Headquarters, promoted to major;

-Elmedin Imamovic, of Rome, 272nd Military Police Detachment, promoted to sergeant;

-Collin Michaels, of Rome, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 108th Infantry Regiment, promoted to specialist;

-Christian Molina, of Utica, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 108th Infantry Regiment, promoted to specialist; and

-Jesse Nelson, of New Hartford, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 108th Infantry Regiment, promoted to sergeant.
