Lewis County legislators announce reelection campaign
Andrea Moroughan, Tom Osborne, and Jeff Nellenback are all seeking reelection to the Lewis County Board of Legislators this November.
Andrea Moroughan — District 6 (parts of the Towns of Lowville and Watson)
First elected in 2014, Moroughan continues her service to the Board as the vice chairperson of the General Services Committee and a member of the Health and Human Services Committee. She is dedicated to finding ways to reinstate the maternity ward at Lewis County General Hospital. In addition, Moroughan said she wants the opportunity to guide the completion of the County building projects now underway. She is a retired town of Watson Judge who served for 17 years and Lowville Academy school bus driver of 34 years. She is currently widowed with three children and three grandchildren.
Tom Osborne — District 9 (Town of Greig and parts of the Towns of Lyonsdale and Watson)
Appointed and elected in 2018, and now serving his second full term on the Board, Osborne serves as vice chairman of the Board, chairperson of the Rules and Finance Committee, and a member of the Health and Human Services Committee. Osborne said he keeps a close eye on keeping taxes under control while at the same time looking to find opportunities to enhance County revenues and promote tourism and recreation throughout the County. Osborne is retired, married with two children, four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Jeff Nellenback — District 10 (Towns of Lewis, Leyden, and Osceola)
Nellenback is completing his first term on the Board, and serves on both the Rules and Finance and the Health and Services Committees. Nellenback said he is committed to fostering the Board’s working partnership with the Sheriff’s Department and improving the EMS system in the County. Nellenback is retired, and presently serves as the fire chief of the West Leyden Fire Department. Nellenback is married with five grandchildren.
