Lewis County crash registered BAC of nearly four times legal limit
WATSON — A 33-year-old man registered a blood alcohol content of nearly four times the legal threshold following a crash in Lewis County very early Saturday morning, according to the Lewis County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff's deputies said Brian P. Mullen, of Watertown, Jefferson County, was southbound on Number Four Road in Watson around 2:10 a.m. when his 2016 Chrysler Town and Country minivan went off the roadway and crashed into a vehicle in a parking lot. Deputies said Mullen then registered a BAC of 0.30% — nearly four times the legal limit of 0.08%.
Mullen is charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated DWI, authorities said. He was released on an appearance ticket to Watson Town Court.
