LETTER: Problems linked to illegal immigrants

Conservatives are for bringing in new immigrants especially the ones that have been vetted for infectious diseases and criminal records. The US government has policies and procedures to do this. They will get a green card and eventually they can become a citizen.

There are two main problems with a person coming across the border illegally. The first is that the person is committing a crime. The second is that they can not become a legal citizen.

The reason this is a problem is that they remain a criminal while in this country. They have no Social Security number so they cannot get a legitimate job or take advantage of all the things a normal citizen does, therefore they can be taken advantage of in many ways. They have to live as a criminal in the criminal world even though they are not a criminal! Many do not speak English and are left in a situation that they do not understand.

You have to realize that way over 1 million illegals have come into this country creating a supply of criminals to do work of gangs. The only people that are benefiting from these illegals are the criminal gangs. Many of the illegals are already criminals in their country and are welcomed into the gangs in our criminal world. Many reports in the news show that these criminals have been caught many times and then return to kill some innocent person. There are stories that force girls to become prostitute by blackmail. The gangs have connections back in the home countries where they threaten the illegals to perform illegal acts or they will kill their relatives. The gangs force them to smuggle drugs, etc. Imagine what you would do if you came to this country with no money, no job, no home and legally branded a criminal.

I feel sorry for the one million plus illegals that are good people and have to live in a criminal underworld and not experience our way of life. I also feel sorry for the people that had to endure the crimes performed by these illegals.
