Lee Center Methodist Church invites public for World Day of Prayer
LEE CENTER — World of Prayer Day kicks off Friday, March 3, and the Lee Center Methodist Church invites the public to join them on the inter-denominational project, which began in 1920. The event is a vision for unity and about 170 countries participate in a service translated into 90 languages, local organizers said.
The Lee Center Methodist Church service will take place at noon on March 3 with refreshments to follow.
The church will have an offering to be taken to benefit World Day of Prayer USA.
Taiwan was chosen to write this year’s service.
“It all starts on the international dateline in Samoa,” Lee Center Methodist Church officials wrote. “Early in the morning as the women begin praying for their hopes, concerns and thanks as the earth rotates. This great wave of prayer sweeps over every continent to reach the shores of North America.”
