Kirkland Senior Center offers lunch, activities
CLARK MILLS — Kirkland Senior Center on Mill Street will host luncheons at noon on every Tuesday this month: March 7, 14, 21 and 28.
The schedule for lunches is as follows:
• March 7: Chicken cacciatore, beans, white bread and fresh fruit for $3.
• March 14: Corned beef and cabbage, carrots, mashed potatoes, white bread and fresh fruit for $3.
• March 21: Oven brown chicken, broccoli, wheat bread and yogurt with fruit for $3.
• March 28: Covered dish. A council meeting will precede the luncheon at 11 a.m., and there will be no exercise class that day.
Kirkland Senior Center is open to bingo and pool at 9:30 a.m. Bone Health Chair Exercise Class is held from 11:15-11:45 a.m. and lunch follows at noon. There is coffee, tea and water available at 25 cents per bottle of water. Most Tuesdays a 50/50 raffle is held.
Attendees may bring their own lunch if they prefer. The center occasionally hosts guest speakers and entertainers. After the weekly meeting, members play cards, work on jigsaw puzzles, play corn hole or just talk with friends. KSC also has a full library of both paperback and hard covered books.
Once a month KSC hosts a Dine Around Town event where members go out to lunch at a restaurant in the surrounding area. Members often take day trips, such as Theodore’s Restaurant in Canastota for lunch and a play, a road trip to Cooperstown or an afternoon wine tasting and music at Brimfield Winery.
Yearly dues are $10, due in January.
