Kirkland Senior Center announces July activities
CLARK MILLS — The Kirkland Senior Center, Mill Street, has announced the following events for the month of July:
- July 5, noon: grilled cheese and ham sandwiches, $5
- July 12, noon: hamburgers and hot dogs, $5
- July 19, noon: Picnic at Firehouse #2, Franklin Ave., Clinton (courtesy of Clinton Lions Club)
- July 26, 11 a.m., council meeting; noon: covered dish ($3 charge if you don’t bring food)
- Thursday, July 21: Dine-around at Boulevard Diner, pre-registration required

The center offers Bingo and Pool at 9:30 a.m., exercise class from 11:15-11:45 a.m. and lunch at noon. There will be coffee, tea and water (25 cent charge for water) available. Most Tuesdays the center hosts a 50/50 raffle.
Patrons are welcome to bring their own lunch. The last Tuesday of the month is covered dish. Occasionally there are speakers or entertainment. After the meeting, attendees listen to jokes, play cards, work on jigsaw puzzles or just visit.
The center has a library full of paperback and hardcover books. On the third Thursday of the month, the center does a Dine-Around, where attendees go out to lunch at a restaurant in the surrounding area. During the good weather, the center offers day trips, such as Theodore’s Restaurant for lunch and a show, or a road trip to Cooperstown.
