Kicks for Kids Foundation surpasses $100,000 in scholarships awarded

The local Kicks for Kids Foundation announced that since its start in 2010, the foundation has provided over $100,000 in scholarships.

A foundation announcement said it could not have reached that goal without “the generosity of the Rome area showing their support to the martial arts. Thanks Rome!”

The foundation is a charitable non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote the martial arts in the Rome area, primarily through a scholarship program. The purpose of the scholarship program, says the foundation, is to provide support to individuals whose families are facing financial crisis.

The foundation added that the scholarship program is open to all Rome-area martial arts students who wish to continue to participate in any martial art form, and it will support families on a three-month basis for up to age 18 or a senior black belt, whichever is sooner.

Anyone who would like more information about the scholarship program can contact Kicks for Kids Foundation President Paul Phister at 315-339-3113.
