Keaton & Lloyd hosts book signing by Vincent Palmieri
ROME — Keaton & Lloyd Bookshop, 236 W. Dominick St., will present a book signing event with local author Vincent Palmieri from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10.
Palmieri will be available to sign copies of his biography, “Ruthie Deeply,” which was released in 2021.
Ruthie Deeply tells the harrowing story of Ruth Morgan, who was abandoned in East Utica as an infant in 1934.
Morgan suffered horrific abuses as a resident of the Syracuse State Home, where she lived from age 13 until her release at 25-years-old.
Despite the challenges she faced, Morgan managed to learn to read and write, handle household finances, raise three children, and purchase the home she still lives in to this day.
She is a frequent volunteer in the foster grandparent program through Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency, and was recognized in 2014 for her success in overcoming poverty and involvement in the community.
Community members are invited to ask Palmieri questions about the writing and publishing process, as well as the contents of the book itself. Morgan may attend the book signing, health-permitting.
Paperback copies of the book will be available the day of the book signing for $20.
