WHITESBORO — Sidekicks Karate had a special guest — Mayor Glen Hopsicker — at the grand opening of its new location in the village at 239 Oriskany Blvd. on Saturday.

Sidekicks offers classes for children ages 4 and older, said owner Sensei Brian Seetge.

The program at Sidekicks uses martial arts as a platform to teach life skills, Seethe said, adding that “it is an honor to be able to help the kids of the community to learn and grow physically, mentally, emotionally and socially.”

“Sidekicks is so much more than a martial arts school; they are a personal development center that has fused martial arts and leadership with public speaking together into one activity to help create a unique program that builds the ‘yes I can’ attitude in kids helping them to be leaders,” the announcement added.

The studio is offering a free week introduction to parents and their children, the announcement said.

To schedule a child’s free trial go online to www.calendly.com/sidekickskarate or call Nicole at 315-533-0794.
