Jervis offers free wellness program
ROME — With support from Rome Health, Jervis Public Library, 613 N. Washington St., will host a free six-week wellness program for adults led by wellness practitioner Bianca Johnson at 6 p.m. Thursdays in July and August.
The program covers a different wellness practice each week as follows:
- July 7 — Mindfulness
- July 14 — Meditation
- July 21 — Breathwork
- July 28 — Yoga
- Aug. 4 — Gratitude & Positive Affirmations
- Aug. 11 — EFT Tapping
“During the pandemic, the library and Rome Health forged a partnership resulting in the library providing direct assistance to community members seeking vaccination appointments,” said Jervis Library Executive Director Lisa A. Matte.
“We are pleased to have expanded this partnership to allow the library to focus on the overall well-being of folks served by both Rome Health and Jervis Public Library.”
Each hour-long session will include an introduction to the week’s featured wellness practice, performing the practice, and group discussion. Participants will receive accompanying workbooks, and supplies such as yoga mats will be available as needed.
Due to limited space, registration is required and includes all six sessions. Registration for individual sessions is not available. For more information or to sign up, call the library at 315-336-4570 or stop at the Reference Desk on your next trip to the library.
