James Francis DeProspero


James Francis DeProspero, age 78, of Lakewood Ranch, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2021. James was born January 30, 1943, in Rome, NY, to Frank and Marie (Fitsik) DeProspero.

James went to Rome Free Academy (RFA), Rome, NY; Class of ‘61 and Utica College; Class ‘63, he later worked for Revere Copper and Brass as a Logistics Manager.

He was a Martial Arts (black belt) expert and instructor; enjoyed playing the clarinet and piano; a part of many car clubs attending many shows with his fire engine red ‘68 Oldsmobile 442. He was an avid world traveler-Italy, Egypt, Tahiti, Maui and many other locales.

James was a dedicated, loyal father, son, husband, and sibling. He was a golf aficionado; and was active as a Eucharistic minister with St. John the Baptist Church in Rome, NY, and Our Lady of Angels in Lakewood Ranch, FL.

His wife, Antoinette C. DeProspero; his son, James A. DeProspero and his wife Lisa A.; his granddaughter, Morgan DeProspero, and his grandson, Daniel DeProspero, survive James.

James was preceded in death by his son, Stephen M. DeProspero; his father, Frank, and his mother, Marie (Fitsik) DeProspero; and his sister, Jeanne DeProspero.
