BNY Mellon is consolidating staff from DeWitt into its 6023 Airport Road Oriskany location, a spokesperson for the financial company confirmed.
“At BNY Mellon we continually evaluate our real estate footprint to ensure we are operating efficiently. After careful review, we have decided to sell and exit 111 Sanders Creek Corporate Center in 2021 and consolidate staff at our 6023 Airport Road location in Oriskany. BNY Mellon remains committed to Central New York,” a statement emailed to the Daily Sentinel said. The statement did not state the number of staff members involved.
Mohawk Valley EDGE, the economic-development organization, gave the company its Leading EDGE Award in 2017, the year after BNY Mellon opened its Innovation Center near the former Oneida County airport in Oriskany.
EDGE noted the company established a consortium with local businesses and colleges to promote the field of data analytics. At the time, the company’s regional employment was put at 1,600.
BNY Mellon is a corporate investment bank and describes itself as “the bank of banks” and as having been started by Alexander Hamilton in 1784.
