BRIDGEWATER — A fatal two-car collision remains under investigation by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Unit and the Forensic Identification Unit.

Deputies responded to a reported two-car serious personal injury collision on Route 20 in the Town of Bridgewater — approximately half mile east of Route 8  — around 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

“At this time, we have determined that Edward Cutler, 51 of Taberg was operating a 2017 Chevy Malibu eastbound on Route 20.  The front passenger of Cutler's vehicle was his wife, Michelle Cutler, 43.  The rear seat passenger was his mother Barbara Cutler, 72, also from Taberg,” noted a Saturday statement from the sheriff’s office.

Edward and Barbara Cutler were both pronounced dead at the scene, officials reported.

Michelle Cutler was initially transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Utica and listed in critical condition, and later transported to SUNY Upstate Hospital in Syracuse and listed in stable condition.

Deputies said the other vehicle involved in the collision was a 2010 Subaru Forester traveling west on Route 20 being driven by Lindsay Bellair, 27, of Brookfield.

Saturday, Bellair was in critical condition with serious injuries at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.

“One of the passengers in her vehicle was her 5-year-old son, Zander Boucher who was pronounced dead at the scene.  The other passenger, her 1-year-old son was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and then transferred to SUNY Upstate Hospital and is now listed in stable but serious condition,” a Saturday night statement from the sheriff’s office notes, continuing, “At this time, we have determined that Bellair’s vehicle crossed over the double solid yellow line and struck the other vehicle head on.  We are reconstructing the crash to try and determine what may have caused the collision.”

The sheriff’s office was assisted on scene by the: New York State Police, Bridgewater Fire and Ambulance, Clayville Fire Department, West Winfield Fire Department, Waterville Fire Department, Cassville Fire Department, Edwards Ambulance, Mercy Flight, and the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office.
