WESTERN — The Western Town Library will host a free program for all ages with illusionist Leon Etienne at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, at Western Town Park, 9219 Main St.

Etienne has performed for thousands of audiences locally, nationally and internationally. He has been named the Central New York Magician of the Year and Stage Magic Champion for the Magicians’ Alliance of Eastern States. He appeared on Season 2 of "Penn & Teller: Fool Us,” and successfully fooled Penn Teller.

This event is being funded from a donation received from North Country Insurance Company Foundation Trust. The Foundation believes in the value of supporting non-profit organizations within the communities that North Country Insurance Company has policy holders.

The Western Town Library was selected to receive the $500 donation because the Foundation believes in its efforts to strengthen the fabric of society. The donation to the children’s programs is a thank you to the library for making a stronger community, the announcement said.

Spectators are encouraged to bring a lawn chair/blanket to view the performance.

The Western Town Library operating hours are 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.
