High-tech company celebrates expansion
ROME — M.A. Polce, a leading provider of Managed Information Technology (IT) and Cybersecurity in Central New York for more than 20 years, celebrated the addition of approximately 10,000 square feet to their building at 401 Phoenix Drive on the Griffiss Business and Technology Park with a special ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday.
M.A. Polce President and Chief Executive Officer Michael A. Polce was joined by members of the Polce family and staff, along with members of Rome Area Chamber of Commerce, for festivities surrounding the ribbon cutting, coupled with the chamber’s Business After Hours event.
CEO Polce explained that the M.A. Polce location started out at about 4,000 square feet, and it has now grown to more than 14,000 square feet, supporting the company’s growth strategy. M.A. Polce finalized the expansion of its headquarters on Dec. 31, 2020, but festivities were postponed due to the pandemic.
The 6,750 square foot (main floor) expansion, in addition to approximately 3,000 square feet of basement space that was transformed into offices, and event center for special events and training, and an exercise area with showers, more than doubled their existing footprint.
“The decision to expand our presence in Rome was a logical step in our business growth strategy,” said Polce. “It’s a great community and rich in talent. It is also a short drive from our Syracuse location, where we continue to expand as well.”
M.A. Polce’s Syracuse facility is located at 301 Plainfield Road, Suite 300.
The new space at the Rome headquarters will accommodate an additional 22 employees, and the layout fosters collaboration and communication with the growing team, Polce said. Since the expansion, M.A. Polce has hired 12 new employees to support the company’s rapidly expanding client portfolio.
M.A. Polce was awarded $260,000 in 2020 towards the $1.5 million project through the state Empire State Development Consolidated Funding awards.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the company had to postpone the event for nearly two years.
During the chamber event, Polce said he was honored his company was nominated among the Best Places to Work in Central New York by CNY Business Journal. The survey was comprised by Research & Marketing Strategies (RMS), an independent market research firm that analyzed the data and reported the findings. CNYBJ will announce the official results on Sept. 12 at its annual awards ceremony, according to the company.
“World-wide we are also ranked among the top 256 Managed Security Service Providers (MSSP),” Polce added.
After the event, Polce expressed his gratitude to everyone that supported him and made the project possible.
“The day wasn’t just about M.A. Polce, it was a celebration and reflection on the hard work and dedication by so many people, both in our company and outside of the organization,” Polce said. “There were countless organizations and individuals who were key in not only making the project happen, but making it a success. Looking at it on a high level, it’s Rome. It’s a community looking and moving forward with business and development.”
Attendees also had the opportunity to tour the facility.
In June, three M.A. Polce employees traveled to Orlando, Florida for the IT Nation Secure 2022 Conference — an annual ConnectWise event for Managed Service Providers (MSPs). The opportunity allowed team members to experience the latest cyber innovation first-hand by connecting them with IT Nation’s global community of thought leaders, peers and cybersecurity experts.
M.A. Polce provides managed information technology (IT) and cybersecurity services. As a consulting firm, the company creates tailored solutions to help streamline, manage, modernize and protect businesses.
