Herkimer College names grant administrator
HERKIMER — Kasper A. Cuda, of Herkimer, has been appointed as grant administrator at Herkimer College, according to an announcement Thursday by college officials.
Cuda will oversee the college’s participation in the Health CARES Consortium, an initiative funded through the federal Department of Labor’s Strengthening Community Colleges grant program. The Health CARES Consortium is led by Onondaga Community College and includes 11 SUNY community colleges, including Herkimer College.
CARES stands for “Career, Acceleration, Retention + Employment Support,” the announcement said, adding the goal of the project is to increase the healthcare and social assistance workforce in New York State. Cuda most recently was a science tutor at Herkimer and a teaching assistant for biology at Clarkson University. She was previously employed at the Utica Chamber of Commerce where she gained experience in event planning, public relations, marketing, and social media.
Cuda has a master’s degree in health administration from Utica University, and two bachelor’s degrees from Clarkson University, one in biomolecular science with a minor in biology and the other in chemistry.
