HERKIMER — Herkimer-Fulton-Hamilton-Otsego BOCES has started accepting applications for the pre-kindergarten programs located at multiple Herkimer County school districts for the 2023-24 school year.

The pre-K program provides opportunities for positive intellectual, social, emotional and physical development for children ages 3 and 4. Successful transition to kindergarten is the targeted outcome for all students.

The program is free to families. Eligibility factors including income and family circumstances are considered for some programs. Applicants must be a resident of the district in which they are seeking to enroll.

Pre-K programs beginning in fall 2023 are available at Central Valley/Fisher Elementary, Dolgeville Elementary, Frankfort-Schuyler Elementary for age 4 only, Herkimer Elementary for age 4 only and Owen D. Young School.

There will also be a 2023 Summer Pre-K program available at Herkimer BOCES from July 10 Aug. 18 - tentative dates at this time - for ages 3-5.
