Hamilton College coach Stockwell, sophomore Singh earn NESCAC honors
Hamilton College men's basketball head coach Adam Stockwell and sophomore guard Teja Singh were honored by the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) on Thursday when the conference announced end-of-season awards.
Singh was an all-NESCAC second team selection while Stockwell was voted the conference's Coach of the Year for the second time (2018). Singh is one of 10 athletes on the all-NESCAC team.
Stockwell has guided the Continentals to an overall record of 19-8 and their first NESCAC title since they joined the conference for basketball for the 2011-12 season. Hamilton tied for first place in the league standings with a 7-3 record and was the No. 2 seed for the conference championship. The Continentals have won nine of their last 10 games going into their NCAA Division III Championship first round matchup against Montclair State University at Johns Hopkins University on Friday.
Singh is 14th in the conference in scoring with 12.8 points per game, tied for ninth with 46 made three-point baskets, tied for 12th in threes made per game with 1.8, and 13th with 2.7 assists per contest. Singh has played in 26 games and started 25, and averages a team-high 30.8 minutes per game. He was even better against the NESCAC in the regular season, averaging a team-best 15.0 points per game in 10 contests. Singh has scored in double figures in nine of the last 10 games.
