ROME — As more businesses move in, the Griffiss Business and Technology Park has grown steadily over the years.

“We are up to 79 businesses currently at Griffiss Business and Technology Park [and] roughly 7,000 total employees,” said Hannah Phillips, director of marketing and communications at Mohawk Valley EDGE. “Visitors may notice sculptures and other interactive art scattered through the park’s extensive trail system, The Griffiss International Sculpture Garden and Nature Trail. Between these attractions and the 18-hole Bomber Disc Golf Course, along with employees, daily visitors exceed 9,000.”

Phillips said, “We are proud to showcase Griffiss Business and Technology Park as a vibrant center for public and private enterprise and recreation.”

She says that the park’s growth has been steady, and that many businesses have moved to the area. “In the last five years, Orgill Distribution Center, Bowl Boss, Crust Kitchen & Bar, Benn Realty, Atlantic Testing Laboratories, Coleman-Spohn Engineering, Rome Sentinel Corporation, and Northpoint Technologies have opened,” Phillips said. “NYSTEC and Booz-Allen-Hamilton relocated within the park and opened a new, state-of-the-art Griffiss headquarters building at 99 Otis.”

And Griffiss is more than just a home for businesses. Air City Lofts has been open for business and is continuing to expand. Buildings five and six at Air City will be opening within the next few years, adding an additional 100 market-rate loft apartments for a total of 250.

Atlantic Testing Laboratories

Atlantic Testing Laboratories is a full-service engineering support company with 10 offices in New York State. They are in the suites at 584 Phoenix Drive. They serve the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Midwest regions of the United States.

Coleman-Spohn Engineering

Coleman Spohn Corporation is a full-service contracting company with offices in the Suites at 584 Phoenix Drive. They help both public and private clients in the construction industry with estimating, installation, and service and maintenance of building systems.

Kelberman

Kelberman, at 725 Daedalian Drive, offers a wide range of programs and services for people with autism at all stages of life, from early childhood to adulthood.

When asked about any future businesses coming to the park, Phillips said a 256-acre shovel-ready site adjacent to Hangar Road is currently being targeted as a supply chain site for semiconductors in Oneida and Onondaga counties.
