The Joseph Michael Chubbuck Foundation is holding the “Give a Gift Card” holiday charity drive to benefit local cancer patients in need. Donors can select to donate a gas card, a grocery card, or donate cash to be used toward a gift card. Checks for “Give a Gift Card” may be sent to JMCF, P.O. Box 4917, Rome, N.Y. 13440, go online to www.thejmcf.org or call 315-339-5993 Monday through Friday.

Cash donations and purchased gift cards are tax deductible. Gas card choices are Sunoco, Speedway, Fast Trac, Citgo, Stewart’s and Circle K. Grocery cards may be from Tops, Hannaford, Price Chopper, Aldi’s and Walmart. There are also pharmacy cards from Rite Aid, Walgreens and Kinney Drugs.

The JM Chubbuck Foundation has assisted more than 650 patients in Oneida, Herkimer Madison and Onondaga counties. The foundation’s annual Central New York Wing Wars fund-raiser has been postponed for fall 2021.

The Joseph Michael Chubbuck Foundation is a non-profit, tax exempt charity that provides financial assistance to cancer patients of all ages.

The funds help ensure that monthly expenses can be paid, such as rent, utility bills, groceries, child care, treatment travel expenses, and needed medical equipment and supplies. The foundation is listed on the American Cancer Society’s website and several patients are referred by the ACS for assistance.
