STITTVILLE — A fundraising barbecue and cornhole tournament for the Foothills Rural Community Ministry will take place at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 21, at the organization’s new site at 8583 Route 365. There will be cash prizes, a 50/50 raffle and gift basket raffles.

The cornhole tournament will cost $25 per person and there will be a blind draw for partners. Cash prizes awarded for first, second, and third places.

The chicken barbecue will cost $15 per takeout dinner. There will also be a bake sale.

All proceeds from the barbecue and cornhole tournament will benefit the Foothills Rural Community Ministry Building Campaign. The new building will be constructed at the organization’s new site, next to Priscilla’s on Route 365. The Foothill Rural Community Ministry is a non-profit organization that assists individuals and families in need with food, clothing and other services and resources. Recently, Foothills purchased a parcel of land, and a building campaign is under way to help raise funds for a new, larger and safer structure.
