Foothills Rural Community Ministry announces food pantry hours
HOLLAND PATENT — The Foothills Rural Community Ministry Food Pantry will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays, Dec. 3, and Dec. 17. The pantry will also be open on Wednesday, Dec. 7, from 4 to 6 p.m. for clients with appointments.
The pantry will not be open on Saturday, Dec. 10, as that is when Christmas baskets will be distributed. The pantry will not be open on Thursday, Dec. 22.
The Foothill Rural Community Ministry Food Pantry is located in the Holland Patent Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall. Clients may not enter the food pantry, but volunteers will pack the groceries and deliver them to the cars. This is to keep clients and volunteers safe. Clients are asked to bring reusable bags for their groceries. To prevent long waiting lines, clients are encouraged to make appointments to shop by calling the office at 315-865-5854, although drop-ins will still be served.
The Country Corner Thrift Shop will be open at the same time as the food pantry, on Dec. 3, Dec. 17, and Dec. 22, on the second floor of the Fellowship Hall. It will not be open on Wednesday, Dec. 7. All are welcome to shop and the profits benefit the Food Pantry. The store is stocked with winter clothing, jewelry, household items, toys, books, games, and holiday items.
December orders for the Food Sense Buying club must be in with the payment by 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3. Order pick-up is from noon to 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16.
Anyone may order Food Sense, and the price for the basic package is still $20.50. Extras are also available.
If there is extreme weather, please check to see if the pantry and thrift shop will be open before starting out in dangerous conditions. For more information on any of the programs visit the FRCM website at https://www.foothillsruralcommunityministry.org or call the office at 315-865-5854.
