CONSTABLEVILLE — The Flywheels & Pulleys Club will present the 47th annual “Old Time” gas engine, tractor and truck show from Friday, Sept. 9 through Sunday, Sept. 11.

All antique engines, tractors, trucks, tools and equipment are welcome; membership is not required. The event will also include music, raffles, food, crafts and a large flea market. Special weekend features include an antique sawmill and draw saw demonstration, an “olden days” display and a beard contest.

The schedule of events is as follows: Friday – 8 a.m. grounds open; 4:30 p.m. flag raising ceremony; 5 p.m. fish fry (tentative); and 6 p.m. auction (call to donate). Saturday – 7 to 10 a.m. pancake breakfast; 10 a.m. to noon “The Moose” radio live; 11 a.m. horizontal greased pole contest; 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. calliope music; chicken barbecue dinner from noon until gone; 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. “Country Cloggers;” 2 p.m. “Big Guys’’ tractor pull; 3 p.m. watermelon eating contest; 4:30 p.m. women’s cross-cut fun; and 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. quiet time (strictly enforced). Sunday – 7 to 10 a.m. pancake breakfast; 8:30 a.m. religious services; 9 a.m. women’s frying pan throw; 10 a.m. to noon kiddie pull (ages 5-13); 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. garden tractor pull; chicken barbecue dinner from noon until gone; noon to 4 p.m. “old time” and country music at the big barn; 1 p.m. sawdust find for tots; 3 p.m. raffle drawings; and 5 p.m. closing and clean-up.

There will also be chainsaw carving and a country dance on Saturday, as well as a three-legged race on Sunday, with exact times to be announced soon. Sign-up times are: 12:30 p.m. on Saturday for “Big Guys” tractor pull; 9 a.m. on Sunday for kiddie pull; and 9:30 a.m. on Sunday for garden tractor pull. The beard contest will be judged at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Primitive camping and RVs are welcome; restrooms and showers will be available.

Pets are allowed, but not encouraged at this event. Those who do bring animals must show proof of vaccinations and license. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets, and must ensure that they are kept on a 6-foot leash and under their control at all times. Vehicles must move no faster than a walk while on the grounds. No fireworks are allowed anywhere on the grounds.

All flea market vendors, crafters, campers etc. must register and pay in advance (includes engine sales area fees). These payments are non-refundable. The Flywheels & Pulleys Club recognizes and gives thanks to the Northern Foundation for their approval of the grant applied for from the Remp-Sawyer Fund.
