Floyd officials designate three roadways for ‘seasonal, limited use’
FLOYD — Goggins Road and portions of Davis and Hughes roads in the town of Floyd have again been designated as ‘seasonal limited use’ roadways, according to an announcement by town officials. As a result, the town will temporarily discontinue snow and ice removal and maintenance of the roadways for the winter.
Floyd Supervisor Willard Streiff said the naming of these specific roadways has been an annual practice in the town of Floyd — with local residents notified through various means, including the placement of a legal notice in the paper as required by law.
“These roads are dirt roads with no residents on those portions of the road,” Streiff said. “It’s seasonal limited use, with no maintenance from Dec. 1 to April 1, 2023.”
Any drivers looking to take a shortcut by using these roads during that timeframe are encouraged to take caution, officials urged.
