Festivals topic of History Club meeting Monday


NEW YORK MILLS — The History Club of New York Mills will host a discussion on strange and unique museums across the world on Monday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m. in the Community Center at 320 Main St. in New York Mills.

History Club president Cheryl Pula will present “Only in America: Strange, Odd and Weird Festivals in the United States.”

She will discuss the backgrounds or history of celebrations including the Woolly Worm Festival in Banner Elk, N.C.; the Slug Fest in Seattle, Wash.; and the Humungus Fungus Fest in Crystal Falls, Mich.
