CONSTABLEVILLE — A Lewis County man is facing a felony charge after barricading himself inside a home following a domestic dispute on Sunday, according to the New York State Police.

Troopers said Simeon L. Kent, 50, of Constableville, was involved in a domestic dispute with another person in Constableville on Sunday, in violation of an order of protection. Kent left the residence prior to state police arriving on the scene.

While they were out searching for Kent, troopers said he returned to the residence and barricaded himself inside. The Special Operation Response Team and crisis negotiators were called to the barricade and troopers said Kent eventually surrendered without incident.

Kent is charged with one count each of first-degree contempt, a class E felony, and second-degree harassment, troopers said. He was arraigned in court and was sent to Lewis County Jail without bail. He is scheduled to reappear in court.
