Family displaced as fire destroys mobile home
AVA — Three volunteer fire departments knocked down a mobile home fire in the Town of Ava Monday afternoon, according to the West Leyden Fire Department.
Fire officials said the alarm was raised at 5:51 p.m. for a fire on Route 26 in Ava, near East Streiff Road. Officials said fire was visible coming out of several windows on arrival.
Volunteers from three departments battled the blaze into the night.
One family was displaced by the fire and are being aided by the American Red Cross, authorities said.
The West Leyden, Constableville and Lee Center fire departments responded to the fire, according to public safety reports.
