Fall Country Fair, Rummage Sale at First Presbyterian Church

The Presbyterian Women and the Mission Committee of the First Presbyterian Church, 108 W. Court St., will host a Fall County Fair and Rummage Sale, on Saturday, Oct. 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Booths will include homemade crafts and baby items, autumn and Christmas holiday decorations, baked goods and Amish cheese, among other items.

Thrifty Treasures, an eclectic mix of goods including, accessories, jewelry, linens, antiques, decor, collectibles and seasonal decorations, will also be open for shopping.

Raffles include a handmade quilt fashioned by Presbyterian Women member Lenora Merithew.

“This combined event is important to our community as well. A large portion of the proceeds from the Fair and Rummage Sale are directed toward local agencies and programs” says Mary Grow, moderator of the Presbyterian Women of Rome.

Blessings in a Backpack at Gansevoort Elementary, Rome Connected Community Schools, Scholarships for the First Presbyterian Nursery School Programs and several local food pantries have all received donations generated by these fundraisers, Grow said.

Gifts to regional, national and global relief efforts are also distributed, she added.

“The welfare of our guests and volunteers is our priority. We want everyone to enjoy themselves in a safe environment and masks will be required,” said Liz Clough, Mission Committee chair.

The Fair dining hall location is not wheelchair accessible. A chair lift is available at the Court Street Entrance for those with lesser mobility issues.
