Fair Trade Shop features Turkana jewelry
CLINTON — Jewelry made of Turkana glass, bone and hand-shaped and dyed clay beads will be featured at the Fair Trade Shop at Stone Presbyterian Church, 8 S. Park Row, during the month of November.
Jewelry plays a part in making moments, friendships, proposals, trips and relationships, and the Fair Trade Shop features beauties, handcrafted by artisans around the world. There is an array of earrings with ethnic appeal, handmade by artisans in Kenya. Customers can pair them with the matching necklace for an all-over ethnic flair.
These and several more unique handcrafted gift items from 36 different countries can be found at the Fair Trade Shop. Regular hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Thursday, second Saturdays of the month, plus every Saturday between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Purchasing fair trade items ensures artisans and small farmers fair wages and healthy working conditions, providing dignity, sustainable development and hope to marginalized people. Visit the shop at https://buildingstonesshoppe.square.site or www.facebook.com/buildingstonesfairtradeshoppe.
