Exhibit honors Don Getz

OLD FORGE — View is paying tribute to the late Don Getz, AWS, through an exhibition of his many works that will be on display in the Henry M. Kashiwa Eco Gallery through Aug. 22.

Getz was deeply involved with Adirondacks National Exhibition of American Watercolors through his numerous poster designs and his development of the official ANEAW exhibition font. This exhibit spans his career focusing on his works in the Adirondacks.The show includes loaned works from private collectors and original works will also be available for purchase.

Getz was a prolific painter with a deep love and admiration for the Adirondacks and all of its natural beauty. His pieces feature many captivating Adirondack scenes and have been used for the Adirondack National Exhibition of American Watercolors posters numerous times over the past few decades. Through his attention to detail, the printing of the show’s catalogs, and working relations with “Mirnie” Kashiwa, Don Getz helped to establish the watercolor show as a national event.
