ROME — Life Church, 1110 Black River Blvd., will host a free family event, “Christmas in the City,” from 5-8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 9 and 10 at the church.

The event will feature horse-drawn wagon rides, live nativity and animals, an interactive Christmas village, music and Christmas caroling, indoor Christmas market, free doughnuts and hot cocoa, door prizes, a food truck and more.

While inside, attendees will be welcomed into the Christmas market with music and the aroma of hot mulled cider and Christmas cookies. The market is made up of local artisans, makers, growers, and more, all providing a shopping experience for holiday gift giving.

At the outdoor Christmas city, attendees will immediately be immersed in the sights and sounds of the season. Neighbors will hear the story of Christmas as they walk through the interactive village, enjoying free hot cocoa and doughnuts. People will be invited to join in with the caroling, take pictures with the live nativity animals, and enjoy a ride through the city on the free horse-drawn wagon rides.
