Engineering firm is honored as Chamber’s Member of the Week

Interactive Engineering Solutions, P.C., a structural consulting engineering firm located at 1721 Black River Blvd., has been named the Rome Area Chamber of Commerce’s Member of the Week. IESolutions has been providing comprehensive professional design, analysis and construction phase services to architects, owners and contractors for both new and renovation projects since 1997. The organization expanded operations in 2003 and incorporated as a professional services corporation.

IESolutions’ is owned, operated and employs highly qualified professional, pre-professional engineering and technical design staff who have extensive structural engineering for a wide variety of building types and structural framing/support systems and specializes in the design, engineering and analysis specifically related to building structural systems, the Chamber of Commerce said in its announcement.

The company approaches all of its projects with the goal of providing the client with structurally innovative solutions that meet the project’s needs within established budgetary constraints and takes pride in putting forth the necessary effort to meet project delivery deadlines, the announcement added.

IESolutions’ staff utilizes extensive in-house experience and lessons learned from past projects as a basis to design structurally aggressive and state-of-the-art facilities for a variety of clients, the Chamber said. The company’s investigation and structural design methods utilize state-of-the-art computer software and computational methods to be able to perform “what-if analysis” resulting in cost effective and functionally minded facilities, the announcement added.

IESolutions’ principal and senior structural engineer, Douglas Cahill, P.E. showcases structural engineering, design and project management experience extending over 40 years, with a majority of those years specializing in educational facilities, the Chamber said, adding that Thomas J. Plante has over 39 years of experience as a structural designer and CAD operator and provides versatility in electronic document preparation with extensive experience with REVIT Structure, AutoCAD and Microstation operating systems.

Kenneth G. Cahill is a graduate of SUNY Polytechnic Institute with a bachelor of technology degree with over 13 years of experience as a junior structural designer and CAD operator and provides versatility in electronic document preparation with extensive experience with REVIT Structure and AutoCAD operating systems.

Prior to joining IESolutions in 2003, Douglas Cahill and Plante were employed by the former architectural and engineering firm of MWH/Harza/Stetson-Dale in Utica for nearly 20 years.
